Abstract
12 taxa of charophytes belonging to the genera Chara, Lamprothamnium, Nitella, Nitellopsis and Tolypella were found in 22 aquatic stands. Nitella giracilis and N. mucronata are recorded as new for Greece. The presence of 5 taxa in Greece is confirned. Comments are also given for the found taxa, ali having few previous records from Greece.
