This work is a contribution to the knowledge of the vascular flora of the archipelago (SE Greece), which is part of the South Anatolian biogeographical province. An autumn survey (October 2025) identified nine species new for the archipelago (Amaranthus viridis, Dittrichia graveolens, Eclipta prostrata, Euphorbia prostrata, Gastridium phleoides, Orobanche minor, Portulaca oleracea, Setaria adhaerens, Sorghum halepense) and clarified the distribution of several taxa of great biogeographical interest (e.g. Campanula kastellorizana, Colchicum macrophyllum, Cyclamen maritimum, Dianthus muglensis, Polygonum praelongum, Thliphthisa brevifolia). A checklist is also presented for Aghios Georgios, a small satellite islet (1 ha) with a high species richness as 149 plant taxa have been recorded in total. The Kastellorizo archipelago, rich in about twenty endemic vascular plants, is a very interesting biogeographical entity that deserves increased protection of its biodiversity.

Euonymus europaeus (Celastraceae) is a deciduous forest tree species of Eurasian origin, widely distributed across Europe and western Asia, but hitherto unrecorded in North Africa. Recent botanical surveys carried out in the Babors Mountains (northeastern Algeria) have confirmed the presence of this species in three isolated mixed deciduous forests located between 700 and 1100 m a.s.l., including the Taza National Park and the forests of Tloudène and Tazegzeout. The identification is based on diagnostic morphological characters, particularly the non-winged capsules and the quadrangular young branches. Comparison with Euonymus latifolius var. kabylicus, the only taxon of the genus previously reported from Algeria, clearly supports the attribution of the studied populations to Euonymus europaeus. The restricted distribution of the species within relict montane forests, together with its absence from North African floristic literature, suggests an ancient native status, likely related to the role of the Babors Mountains as biogeographical refugia. This finding highlights the floristic and conservation value of the region and underlines the need for further botanical investigations in northeastern Algeria.

This contribution updates the distribution of three vascular plant taxa in various habitats and substrates within the Korça region in Southeastern Albania. Two of these: Trigonella graeca and Aremonia agrimonoides subsp. pouzarii are native to Albania, while Trigonella caerulea is a casual alien species likely introduced as an aromatic plant, many years ago with T. foenum– graecum. Both A. agrimonoides subsp. pouzarii and T. caerulea are reported here as new records for Albania; the former is a Balkan taxon and the latter is a cultigen originating from the Eastern Mediterranean, Mediterranean Europe, and Asia. Furthermore, a new Albanian southeastern locality and three southern unpublished ones are given for T. graeca, representing a significant expansion to the distribution range both within the country and across the Balkan Peninsula.

This article documents the first record of Petunia ×atkinsiana escaped from ornamental cultivation in Algeria. This South American nothospecies was observed in the commune of Seraidi (Annaba Province). We classify P. ×atkinsiana as casual alien showing neither substantial spread nor clear signs of naturalization.

During botanical surveys undertaken from northern to southern Tunisian territory, mostly within the last two decades, new occurrences of alien vascular plants (lianas) were detected. These records include: Campsis grandiflora, Lablab purpureus subsp. uncinatus and Tinospora cordifolia new to the Mediterranean area; Solandra maxima new to the African inland and Ipomoea pes-caprae new to North Africa. In addition, new national distributional data for Ipomoea batatas, Lablab purpureus subsp. purpureus and Momordica balsamina, already known from Tunisia, are here reported. All taxa are considered casual or naturalized aliens where the horticultural trade remains the most likely pathway for their introduction. General macromorphological characteristics together with original photographs are provided. Actual distribution, ecological notes (habitat, phenology) as well as the degree of naturalization in Tunisia are presented.

Following the first two contributions for a new, updated, and revised vascular flora of Sardinia, new data about the distribution of 30 taxa growing in the island are here presented. Taxa are both native and alien, and are characterized by their very low frequency, phytogeographical significance, endemicity, conservation status, invasiveness or novelty to Sardinia and Italy. The results derive from floristic research carried out throughout Sardinia and various neighbouring islands and islets. The first reports of Bulbine frutescens, Coleus barbatus, Dasylirion serratifolium, Euphorbia ingens, and E. milii are here recorded for the first time in Italy (casual alien). Additionally, Ageratum conyzoides, Cyperus papyrus, Erysimum odoratum, Galinsoga quadriradiata, and Narcissus trumpet daffodil group (casual alien taxa) are documented here for the first time in Sardinia. Moreover, the confirmations for Sardinian flora of Carex acutiformis, Catananche lutea, and Suaeda splendens are here provided after 40 years without new reports. New distributional data for 12 taxa, most of which known for their rarity, are gathered. Notably, Callitriche lusitanica was previously reported only for a few sites. Concerning other taxa, a clarification of their distribution range on the island is documented, as for the rare Ceratophyllum submersum subsp. submersum, Limoniastrum monopetalum, and Malva stenopetala subsp. plazzae, which have recently faced contract...
