Abstract

This article documents the first record of Petunia ×atkinsiana escaped from ornamental cultivation in Algeria. This South American nothospecies was observed in the commune of Seraidi (Annaba Province). We classify P. ×atkinsiana as casual alien showing neither substantial spread nor clear signs of naturalization.

Résumé

Dans le présent article est documentée le premier signalement de Petunia ×atkinsiana échappée de culture ornementale sur le territoire algérien. Cette nothoespèce sud-américaine a été observée dans la commune de Seraidi (Wilaya de Annaba). Nous classons P. ×atkinsiana comme ayant un statut d’exotique occasionnelle ne montrant ni propagation substantielle ni signes clairs de naturalisation.
