Isoetes (Lycophytina, Isoetaceae) with terrestrial habitat in Calabria (Italy). New karyological and taxonomical data
Three species belonging to the genus Isoées with terrestrial habitat occur in Calabria: I. duriei Bory (2n = 55), L. histrix Bory (2n = 20), I._ subinermis_ (Durieu) Cesca & Peruzzi stat. nov. (2n = 22). Karyological and morphological data are presented and discussed. Both /. duriei (pentaploid) and I._ histrix_ (ancuploid) are probably derived from I. subinermis (diploid): the first because of autopoliploidy, the latter because of aneuploidy. I. subinermis is a neglected taxon, described in 1861, that acquires new taxonomic meaning under the data presented in this paper.
