Abstract

Results of floristic studies at Capo S. Marco, thc southem extremity of the wide Sinis peninsula, are presented. The flora is composed of 400 spontaneous taxa belonging to 63 families and 242 genera and includes species of noteable phytogcographic significancc which have the locus classicus here. The floristic list of CapoS. Marco has been analysed in order to elaborate the life forms, to check the different growth forms of the plants in response to environmcntal factors, to record the phytogeographic elements of alI species so as to show the various geographic components. Ecologic elements for about 50% of the flora characterizing the landscape of Capo S. Marco are considered.
